Was more of a trimming flight than anything.  I did attempt some circuits, but had trouble with visibility when the heli got low in front of trees lining the park.

I tried getting the tracking right, but was unable to get it to within about 5-10mm.

The mini titan handled the gusty wind conditions very nicely.

After reconfiguring the ESC and making some swash adjustments last night, the Mini is a lot nicer to fly. I will need to go and redo pitch settings now to compensate.

Basic hovering and some forward flight.

I had an absolute blast with todays flights. Clear skys and only some wind (although it did pick up to about 15km/h by noon)

Apart from a small amount of hovering, most of the flights were made up of extremely fun forward flight :)

Zooming around the sky (using most of the field as no one else was flying) with nice "U-Turns" at each end (preparing myself for stall turns).  I found the u-turns made it easy to turn around and head back as you were easily able to see which way the heli...

After being annoyed at how the mini titan has been performing, motor wise.  So I have decided to re-set the esc settings.

I have configured the following:

1-2 2-1 3-1 4-2 5-3

They equate to:

Standard lipo discharge setting (1-2) Auto motor timing (2-1) No Brake (3-1) Standard throttle reponse (4-2) Helicopter mode WITHOUT governor (5-3) Hopefully this will improve how the mini flies.

Given the problems I have been having with orientation when turning the heli around to head back to flying from left to right, I decided to spray some fluro pink paint onto the nose of the canopy (the cheapy hobby-city.canopy, not my Burgundy red one)

It helped, but a lot of the issue I later realised was the good ol' "Sphincter Factor" (LOL)  Once I had overcome that, i was fine.  I also realised that I do have some issues with storm clouds and orientation.

Flights consisted of forward...

I thought I would have my first flight of the day with the Mini-Titan.

Looks like I have some adjustments to make as i have a lot of elevator trim dialled in to try and keep it steady.

Not much done, just a bit of hovering and  some small circuits

Was reasonable weather for flying today.  You could time it right and nearly get a wind free flight.

Basic flight.  I had a lot of trouble with orientation when flying from left to right.  I couldn't determine if the heli was slightly tail in or more nose in.  I might add some fluro paint to the nose and see if that helps.  Did several piros.  A couple of fast ones, then numerous slow ones.

I adjusted the needle for the second flight, leaning it by 1 notch

The flights were 8...

Was looking like a really nice morning to go flying, but by the time  we got to the flying field, the winds had whipped up.  I still had two flights, but not very enjoyable due to the winds.

Two flights of 8 and 5 minutes.  Maximum engine temps were 93 and 88

First flight ws mainly hovering.  left and right side in and some forward flight.  I was having an issue with orientation, so I wasn't really confident with lots of forward flight.

The second (shorter) flight was just to...

Same as for the mini-titan... Just wanted to get another flight in.  This heli is so nicely trimmed.  Still needs a small bit more, but will wait for the swash leveller before i do anything else major.

Just basic hovering in the front yard.

Max temp was 98c

Flight time was 7 minutes

Due to the schutzenfest, we are unable to fly at the field today, so i thought I would have a quick hover in the front yard.

The heli seems so twitchy, so i think i will have to go over it to see if there are any tight spots.  But as I think i may have mentioned before, the blades could also be the issue as they are only cheap woodies and not the carbons.

The weather looked OK for flying, but deteriorated.  I still managed two flights though.

I had readjusted the head to get equal positive and negative pitch.  I now have +/- 11 degrees pitch.  It was +10 and -14.  With a bit more tweaking, I might be able to get more, but for the moment, that is fine :)

The heli still needs some trimming, but with the winds it was hard to do.  Both flights were just fff and circuits with a few piros.

I think i will need to look at the gyro settings. ...
