My General thoughts and musings

Woohoo... She flies again :)

I had two extremely enjoyable flights.  I had a slight blade tracking issue, but easily fixed with a twist of the blade link.  The engine idle was also a little low, so i will have to adjust the linkage to set it up

First flight I mainly hovered, with some slow piros (1rpm in about 4seconds) and some very small circuits, just to shake things down and see if there would be any issues (which there were none)

Max engine temp was 91c for this flight

Was a nice morning for flying.

Its nice to get some flights in with the Mini-Titan, even if they are forced LOL.

I am gaining a bit of confidence with the mini again, doing some forward flight.

I was having trouble with forward flight, losing orientation, moreso when the heli was moving from my left to right on my left hand side, so I might have to brighten up the canopy and tail to make it more visible

I upped the timer to 6 minutes for the second flight as the batteries...

The little Mini-Titan got a flight this morning.  It wasnt too bad. the winds were buffeting it around, but otherwise it flew very well.

I have some things to sort out on her.  The tail had a twitch like gyro gain playing up, but was fine at higher head speeds.
The motor pinion looks slightly low so will have to raise that and the trim is way out.

This was both a good and bad flight.

Good in that my FFF was really improving and I did 4 pretty good rolls.

Bad...  Roll number 5 resulted in the heli slamming into the ground :(  Half way through the roll I had a mental blank and forgot what I was supposed to do so all i could do was watch as the heli slammed into the ground.

Damage was Main blades, flybar cage, main shaft (ok, but will replace anyway as the collar grub screws scored the shaft), feathering shaft,...

This was just a "quick" flight to use up the fuel left in the tank from the weekend, but also as the weather was warmer to see if the heli was going to glitch or not.

Unfortunately, the glitching had returned.  Its wasn't too bad, but still back none the less.

As per always when hovering in the front yard, i just hovered around.  not enough room to do much else.

6 minute flight.  I forgot to check the max temp .

Just a quick flight to make up for only getting one flight at the club this morning due to rain.

Hovering out the front in the driveway.  Some small pitch pumps, but otherwise just plain ol' hovering.

Im still keeping the flights to 5 minutes.  Probably do another couple of cycles on each before increasing the flight length

Battery #6 took xx ma to charge in yy minutes for a 5 minute flight.

Weather was crap today.  One weekend we have blazing heat, the next its drizzling LOL

I only squeezed in one flight today.  Even that flight was a wet one, with the drizzle starting to fall about half way through the flight.

Well I can thankfully say that this is the first flight since upgrading to the inolab servos that I didn't have a glitch :)

Since the last flight, I have replaced the tail belt as the old one was starting to fray along the edges (it's also done over 100 flights),...

Stinker of a day for flying, but was still cool enough n the morning before it got too hot.

Well, the glitching is still there, even after the old Align 2-in-1  was removed. (didn't think it would be this)

The glitching started about 2mins into the flights and as per previous, was intermittent.  I cant even reproduce it.  One hover will be fine, then the next hover it will hiccup. Its is definately something I will have to look into and try and fix.

Besides the hiccups, I did...

A couple of great flights.  Still marred by the glitching, but still enjoyable,

First flight was a bit of flying around with some slowish piro's and getting used to flying higher than I normally would.

The second flight was similar to the first, but with some circuits (Fast forward flight Woohoo :) ) and my first real life roll.  Considering it was my first, I thought it was reasonably smooth.  I didn't attempt a second one as the fuel was getting low and didn't want to risk a flame...

I thought I would just do a quick flight to see what the new batteries are like.

Headspeed was way up from the old packs.

I kept the flight short so as to not stuff the battery up.

Just some hovering in the back yard.  I did have to drop the gain on the gyro to stop a high speed wag.

Battery #6 took 608ma to charge in 52 minutes for a 5minute flight
