My General thoughts and musings

Woohoo... She flies :)

Maiden flight of the Outrage Velocity 50 N2.

Was just a hover in the driveway, but it was such a smooth and stable hover considering how rich the motor is running

First "flight" (hover) of 4 minutes

Now to go over and make sure all screws etc are still tight :)

Weather wasnt the best - warm and muggy, but the storm clouds looked awesome :)

A couple of excellent flights.  My flips and rolls are improving where more and more of them are consistent and "tight"

A couple of the fly-bys that I did with barrel rolls left and right I nailed, with the heli looking like it was on a wire and spinning around this wire.

The second flight I did some inverted nose in hovering, holding it for quite a while.  I even did a piroette whist inverted :)

Beautiful day for flying, although it started to warm up and get a little uncomfortable (heat wise) later in the morning

No new moves, but rather just practicing existing.

Lots of slow piros, piro stall turns, flips, rolls and loops.  A very small amount of inverted hover (hold at top of loops)

I feel that my flips and rolls are improving, getting more consistent due to better pitch control

I can never work out why the first flight always uses more fuel than subsequent...

For the first day of the year the weather started off not too bad, but then the wind whipped up a bit.  Still ok, but was a southerly which I don't enjoy as much as when from the nothern sides.

Despite the wind, I still had two good flights.  The rolls were a lot better than they have been as were the flips.

Some inverted hovering - loop, hold inverted for 5-10 seconds, then complete the loop.

Flight times of 10 and 11 minutes, with engine temps of 93 and 103

This was Jordon's second flight and the first using the buddy box system.  Took him a bit to get his eye in, but near the end of the flight he was getting the hang of it.

Battery #7 took 1736ma to charge in 66minutes for an 8 minute flight

Just a quick hover in the front yard to see how the settings changed the heli.

I have upped the throttle curve for st1 and st2 to try and improve the climb out.  I also changed the pitch curve for st1 to 0-50-100 (was 30-50-100).  There was an improvement, but it was hard to really tell in the gusty winds

Battery #7 took 821ma to charge in 33:18 minutes for a 4 minute flight

Beautiful conditions for flying.  Humid and slightly warm with no wind.

Nothing new with this flight, just loops, flips, rolls piros etc.

Small amount of inverted (10sec)

Very enjoyable flight

Flight was 10 minutes. Max engine temp was 106c

Merry Christmas!

The weather started off crap, but improved as the morning progressed.  The wind was still annoying and gusty, but at least it was flyable

I made some changes the the 3G software setup last night after performing the "silcone mod" to the sensor a few weeks back.

I was not prepared for the dramatic changes in the heli's behaviour.  It has gone from an OK flying heli to an awesome flying heli :)  It felit like it was on rails.  It would do as I told it and do it very well.

I also...
